A True Ark Story and Why Shimmers Turned from PVP and walked Straight into PVE Mode

(If any of my fellow readers has an Ark story like this that you wouldn’t mind being published to this site (with your name), please contact me by dropping a comment below this article.

This article is written for those survivors who are trying to figure out whether they should play in PVE mode or go with PVP mode. In the end, if you are still having problems trying to make the decision, feel free to send me a message and I can talk to you about it. In fact, if you still need help on making the decision, I can play PVP with you for a month or two. I personally recommend PVE because I personally like being able to keep my beloved tames alive so that I can breed them over and over again. I mean come on, I don’t want to see the dinosaurs I raised from babies get killed. Now, let’s move forward to the reason we started writing this article …

Once upon a time, (I believe that was August 2017) in a world where prehistoric beasts roamed and survival was a constant challenge, there was a dedicated player named Shimmers. Shimmers was a master of the wild and an avid fan of “ARK: Survival Evolved,” specifically the fierce and competitive PvP (Player vs. Player) mode. She created a tribe that consisted of 20+ people. Every time someone messed with their base, they would put them in a cage and end up putting them through a trial and if they passed that trial, they would turn into their tribe member (if they agreed to it).

In the heart of the island, amidst the sprawling landscapes and untamed wilderness, Shimmers had earned a reputation as a force to be reckoned with. For months, Shimmers and her tribe fought tirelessly against rival players, built towering fortresses, and tamed the fiercest dinosaurs. The thrill of PvP battles was unmatched—every raid, every defense, every strategic maneuver made the game exhilaratingly intense. It was a tiring job, every time Shimmers woke up from her nightly sleep, she would find her base being messed with.

Despite it all, Shimmer’s tribe (Tribe Not Named) quickly rose to dominance, becoming the feared “Alpha” of their server. She had ONE rule on the server – not to mess with “newbies” and if anyone went past those rules and messed with a newbie, their own base would get wiped. Her base was a marvel of engineering and a testament to Her tribes skill and determination. But as time went on, the constant pressure of defending their territory and engaging in relentless combat started to take its toll. The excitement was still there, but so were the stress and fatigue.

One day, Shimmers came across a new opportunity: “ARK: Survival Ascended,” a revamped version of heir beloved game and she walked into it with a fresh take on PvE (Player vs. Environment) mode. The idea of a game without the relentless competition was intriguing. It promised a different kind of adventure, one where the challenges came from the environment and not from other players because come on, other players raiding a base was not entertaining, especially when it involved killing a tame she deeply cared for.

After much deliberation, Shimmers decided to make the switch. The transition from Alpha PvP to a more relaxed PvE setting in “ARK: Survival Ascended” felt like stepping into a new world. No longer were there rival tribes to contend with or raids to fend off. Instead, Shimmers could focus on exploring the new landscapes, discovering hidden secrets, and building without the constant threat of attack.

In this new version of the game, Shimmers found joy in a different way. The landscapes were more vibrant, and the variety of creatures was astounding. From the lush, expansive forests to the towering mountains, the world seemed to have endless possibilities. Shimmers spent hours taming majestic creatures, not for war, but for companionship and assistance in their adventures.

One of Shimmer’s favorite activities became building elaborate, aesthetically pleasing bases that blended seamlessly with the environment. Without the pressure of PvP, Shimmers could experiment with creative designs and create stunning, functional homes. The serenity of this new gameplay allowed for more personal expression and exploration of the game’s mechanics.

Additionally, Shimmers discovered the thrill of collaborative play in a more relaxed setting. Joining forces with other players in PvE mode led to wonderful cooperative experiences—taming massive creatures together, venturing into the most dangerous caves as a team, and solving the game’s many mysteries side by side.

Shimmerses journey from a fierce PvP Alpha to a contented PvE explorer had brought a new sense of fulfillment. The game had evolved for Shimmers, just as Shimmers had evolved in their approach to it. “ARK: Survival Ascended” offered a fresh perspective, proving that even in a game as demanding as ARK, there’s always room for a new adventure.

And so, Shimmers continued to thrive in this new chapter of her gaming life, finding joy and excitement in every corner of the world they explored, relishing the freedom to play at their own pace, and enjoying the simpler pleasures of survival in a beautiful, untroubled world.
